Although this summer started slowly, it exploded into our lives this week. The heat is really hard to bear, so at this time you long for the beach with every inch of your being. I hope I'm not the only yarn addict for whom a crochet project is essential for going to the beach bagging, taking advantage of the short moments when I can grab a crochet hook next to two children. However, when preparing for the beach, I often had to consider what to pack, so as not to take too many things, but to make the most of the time I can dedicate to crocheting, even on the beach. I have put together 5 tips that you can use to put together your crochet project bag in a practical way, if you're chilling at the water's edge, but you wouldn't leave your crocheting at home! As the 9+1 reasons why crochet is good I also wrote in my article, fortunately this hobby is independent of the weather, so it can be done anytime, anywhere. Even on the beach.

In this article, I don't just want to give you project ideas that you can do on the beach without unnecessary extra backpacks or bags, but I also classified these tips according to the use of raw materials and the complexity of the project. The lists are exemplary, so of course the available samples can only set a limit to how much can be made even on the beach.

TIP 1: No filler, little yarn, small project(s)

I think this solution can be the most ideal choice for the beach, especially with small children, who still require constant supervision and our prying eyes in the bathing areas. In this case, it is advisable to choose a project that can be realized with just 1 skein or during a beaching and does not require filling material in order to save space. What are these projects? The amigurumi are probably falling out in this field now, however we can crochet lots of practical little things, which we have not yet been able to devote time to. You can make it for example from my free sample for your whole family paper pocket holder, which will not only save your wallet in the future, but is also an environmentally friendly solution (compared to pre-bagged 10-packs). In addition, the offer is endless: coasters, dish coasters, kitchen towels, bathroom holders, etc. These provide a practical solution not only in your home, but also if necessary even if you have a crochet business, you can easily and stress-free expand your offer even while at the beach!

Tip 2: No filler, little yarn, big project

If you prefer bigger challenges, or it's okay if you start on the beach and finish the project later, even during another beach trip, then these will be ideal for you when bathing. After all 1, maximum 2 skeins of yarn and a crochet hook miracles can be created. You can make it for autumn from a wonderful color gradient yarn light scarf, or a super loose one crochet top, which you can already flash on the beach during your next bath, but just one it can also be cut into a crocheted swimsuit, which will serve you for years on the beach. THE crocheted bags typically good projects for the beach, me too my tulip bag I crocheted it partly on the beach in Hertelend, Magyar, while my little son was sleeping. It was great that I only had to throw those 2 skeins in my bag with the right crochet hook and nothing else. That way it didn't take up much space, but I was able to crochet something that made me happy. Such occasions, by the way, provide a great opportunity to to try out tapestry patterns! A few small balls of yarn are wonderful you can make wall protectors and pillowcases to decorate your home. If you are interested in what you can make with this technique, visit to my tapestry pinterest board for inspiration, or look inside MICMICcrochet's Etsy shop! In this category too, I feel that a the number of possibilities is almost endless, there are so many great patterns and project ideas available that it's almost hard to choose just one, what to crochet next at the beach.

Tip 3: little filler, little yarn, small project(s)

If you don't want to crochet accessories, bags or anything else, you'd rather stay in the amigurumi area, you can still get ready for the beach so that your project doesn't fill up half your bag. In such cases it is advisable to choose smaller figures, or a project that requires very little filler material. It can be an ideal choice for example - especially if you also make crochets for sale - a Snooze Bunny my pattern, since 1 skein is enough for a bunny and only the head needs to be stuffed. It's all true for my free giant octopus pattern, which can be completed in up to 2 hours, and does not require an awful lot of filler. Although I will add that I don't think chenille yarn is such an ideal choice for the beach, since the skein is also larger and these figures typically require more filling material. Therefore if we stick to chenille yarn, it is worth choosing projects for which 1, maximum 2 colors are sufficient.

If you don't stick to chenille, feel free to look for cute things in the range of Hungarian amigurumi and crochet pattern designers, almost every designer offers a project that requires a maximum of 2-3 different colored yarns and little filling material. An ideal choice in this case is a small figurines, key chains, rattles, or figurines containing one or two colors at most. A super beachy project like this can be done without the need for completeness: Crochet rattles from Andrea's ToysBoog amigurumi free simaliba pattern, Blue Yarn Crochet's Christmas angel, A really cute love bug crocheted by Dóri, Sylvees Crochet patterns mini dachshund, A handful of yarn forest animals. If you like the video samples, you have unlimited mobile internet or you're chilling on a Wi-Fi beach, then it's a great choice for you Dinami Design's YouTube channel, where you will find countless cute, free patterns that can keep you busy while sunbathing.

Tip 4: less filler, more yarn, more complex project

If you would like to stay in the world of amigurumi, but you are bored with simple projects, and you'd rather be looking for challenges on the waterfront, then you should look for patterns with less filler but more yarn. So you probably won't be able to admire the end result on the beach, however you are guaranteed to have something to crochet while at the beach! To be honest, lately I've been more into these projects, so I'll be packing projects like these to crochet for the beach this summer. The range of possibilities is also endless: here 15-25 cm doll figures can be considered (such as. Réka, the carrot girl, or the my baby boy figures), where you may need a maximum of 6-8 (incomplete) skeins to make it. I have it the golden rule in this case is that all accessories must fit in a maximum A4 canvas bag, otherwise the project cannot come. Last year Blue Yarn Crochet's summer fairy I took it with me, I needed a total of 7 different colors. However, I already knew by looking at it which color I would need on the beach, so I only took those. It can also be an ideal choice without the need for completeness Smoozy Crochet Patterns is a crochet pattern for any Montessori skill development game (game worlds, silent books, etc.), Boog's amigurumi really summery VW minibus, obsession Niki's Crafts Crochet KitesIt can also fit a smaller chenille figure or one that requires less filler, sample butterfly nap scarf crochet pattern, obsession Jojo the Care Monster Free Pattern. By the way, as with the previous category, it is enough there is a wide range on the Hungarian and foreign markets too. It is not absolutely necessary to bring a new project with us, in such cases we can also store larger details of our current projects, such as the most breathable hair crown or voluminous skirt of any doll.

Tip 5: How to take the pattern to the beach?

Basically, as you already know about me, faithfully I stand for the use of electronic samples, as opposed to their paper-based, printed counterparts. However this principle of mine is completely compatible with going to the beach, because if we use our phone or tablet to crochet on the beach, we don't have to worry that the pattern will be wet or sandy and need to be reprinted, and there is no danger of forgetting the pattern that is essential for crocheting at home. If you haven't tried it yet, give the use of electronic patterns a chance this summer, just in case the beach trips bring the breakthrough and you won't feel the need to print out the obtained patterns in the future. As an extra tip, I recommend a storage of samples in the cloud, since then you can access them anywhere, anytime, you may need at most a small mobile network or Wi-Fi. I have been storing and using my samples this way for years. For me this solution is very convenient, as it allows me to pursue my hobby wherever I want.

Summary

I hope you found this little brainstorming session useful and take some tips with you on your beach trips. Of course, everyone can crochet whatever they want on the beach, for me however - especially with two children - practicality is important, so it is necessary to manage the space wisely in this case (also). If you're one of those crocheters whose palms don't itch to pick up a needle on the beach, I hope I've been able to provide you with a couple of useful ideas, which, if not for the beach, but you will be able to use it during vacations or trips. Of course, who wouldn't want an extra suitcase for their yarns and crochet tools, but let's face it, it is advisable to be goal-oriented and practical on such occasions.
