This week a very good I would like to offer a practical sample For you! It's not amigurumi, but you can show off your crochet skills in public, plus you will have a really great bag too 😉 I think the crocheted tulip bag is a great summer project, even a beach project the need for raw materials is not too high (yarn and crochet hook), and actually after a while you don't even need the pattern, just a hot summer day, a bathing suit, a beach and some cool drinks, who likes what. Anyway, I think this little bag is one great project for a beginner crocheter too, so I can really recommend it to everyone with a warm heart.

How did I find the pattern?

I saw the bag for the first time with my best friend when we went to Balcsi as a family one summer. Since her aunt also crochets (which I found out then), she made her such a wonderful tulip bag. I spotted it right away, isn't it crocheted? I fell in love at that moment, especially because he brought this one-eyed bag with him to the beach and kept taking things out of it on the beach. Hers is made of gradient yarn, and to this day it is still a mystery to me how her aunt solved all this from a skein (250 gram macramé yarn) because it doesn't fit me at all. But I didn't give up! I'll figure it out somehow! Or maybe he didn't even use a skein? Who knows?!

About the crochet pattern

so The bag. After a bit of browsing, I quickly found the name of the bag, i.e. the tulip bag (English: crochet tulip bag). It's called that - you'll see when you make it - because it's like the head of a tulip. It's probably also logical, since my favorite flower is the tulip, so it was out of the question to make it. After a long search, I found the right pattern for me, because the Danube could be blocked with them. Some were paid, some were free, some were written, some were video, and in the end I stayed with the following sample and used it when creating my own.

Sirin's Crochet on the YouTube channel shows how to crochet a bag from start to finish, so I cut into the solid granny square crochetit's newly bought macrame yarnwith mom. As she says in the video, you can actually make a bag of any size you like, depending on the size of the base, i.e. granny square, you crochet for it. The methodology is the same for all of them, only the size will be different.

My bag

What did it take?

    • 4.5 mm crochet hook
    • 1.5 skeins of Yarn Art Macrame Cotton (250g/225m)

THE the base of my own tulip bag has 40 single fold sticks on each side (total so far 10 linesI crocheted t on my granny square), so there were a total of 160 stitches in the round, which when designing the bag, it was necessary to figure it out. From now on 12 linesI crocheted t, one half of which was black and the other half light gray. Finally got a leather strap, which has been providing excellent service ever since.

My little bag was quite a hit. My mother-in-law immediately indicated her need, so last year her bag was also finished in a burgundy-grey version, but if my memories serve me correctly, I made hers a little smaller (9 rows, i.e. 36 stitches), because the mine turned out to be huge. In particular, I was able to bring home a melon in it last year. But anyway, everywhere I go/went with it, there were admirers everywhere saying, wow, the bag is great, and when I said that I made it, they really couldn't get enough of it.

So if you are interested how you too can collect recognition from strangers here are the two YouTube videos from Sirin's Crochet, so you can crochet your own. By the way, it's on your YouTube channel also a video if you want to make a strap for it from the same thread, then how can you do it, so visit his site!
