These two additional pieces of clothing were made for my standing plush figures. If you would like to dress these cute and soft amigurumi figures, make the appropriate piece of clothing in their favorite colors.
My kids have been playing with dolls a lot lately, and I’ve noticed they really enjoy dressing them up. I had been planning this for a long time, and now I finally created the first clothing accessory for my plush toys, which can make role-playing even more enjoyable for children. After all, who doesn’t remember from their childhood how carefully they dressed their dolls or took care of them as if they were their own children? As I explained in another blog post about the importance of role-playing, I believe it’s essential to contribute to children’s mental and emotional development in this way too. It has brought me great joy to see the kids fall in love with these figures all over again thanks to this small addition, and to watch them have so much fun playing with them once more.

Skirt / Pants Section
R4: Chain 28, then join to the opposite corner of the granny square, aligned with the starting point.
Now continue crocheting into the granny square stitches: 1 sc into the chain space (corner); [ 3 sc into stitches, skip the chain ]*2; 3 sc; 1 sc into the chain space (corner).
From here, continue crocheting into the foundation chains and the bottom edge of the granny square (the part just worked in this round).
R5: 28 sc into the chains, then from here work in BLO only: 25 slst; 1 sc.
Go past the end of the previous round so that the starting stitch moves to the back of the skirt. Place a stitch marker after the last stitch—this will now be your new beginning of round.
R6: inc(hdc); 13 hdc; in FLO: 26 hdc (40)
R7: [ 9 hdc; inc(2 hdc) ]*4 (44)
R8: 5 hdc; inc(2 hdc); [ 10 hdc; inc(2 hdc) ]*3; 5 hdc (48)
R9: [ 11 hdc; inc(2 hdc) ]*4 (52)
R10: 6 hdc; inc(2 hdc); [ 12 hdc; inc(2 hdc) ]*3; 6 hdc (56)
R11: [ 13 hdc; inc(2 hdc) ]*4 (60)
R12–14: 60 hdc (60)
If making a skirt: crochet 1 sc and 1 slst, then fasten off with an invisible join and weave in the ends.
If making pants: Flatten the skirt, locate the two edge stitches (30 stitches apart), and find the center 4–4 stitches on both sides. Once marked with stitch markers, sew them together with a few stitches. Lastly, also sew the outer edges of the stitches. When done, cut the yarn and weave in the ends.

Strap Section
Locate the chains that fall 2 stitches away from the granny square (top edge of the skirt), then attach the yarn on the left side of the granny square (the side where you joined the chain row in R4).
R1: ch2 into the top of the skirt, then begin crocheting into the granny square stitches: * [ 3 sc, skip the chain ]*2; 3 sc; 1 sc into the chain space (corner). Chain 13, then from the 2nd ch from the hook: 12 sc; 1 slst into the starting stitch (corner again). * Repeat the section between the asterisks. Then continue with: [ 3 sc, skip the chain ]*2; 3 sc + ch2, 1 slst into the chain located two stitches away from the granny square (top of skirt). Fasten off and weave in the yarn end.
Attach the finished straps to the back side of the skirt. Place them 10 stitches away from the granny square on each side.
