The start of kindergarten, if the family has previously had nursery school experience, it is likely that the transition process will be somewhat easier. There is no need to be afraid even if the kindergarten will be the first educational institution in the child's life. If nursery school life has been omitted, it is worthwhile for the child to the first part of a series of articles also read.

TIP 1: Get to know the kindergarten!

It's you getting to know the institution too important, because our child knows where he goes every day, where he spends most of his time, whether this institution is close to his/her father's/mother's workplace, or how we will get there every day. That's why it's important to let the child familiarize himself with the route and the kindergarten building. On the open day, he could meet the kindergarten teachers and the kindergarten workers in the best case.

TIP 2: Let's play kindergarten

Play is of particular importance in children's lives. Through the game, they are able to play and replay what happened to them. Before kindergarten starts, we can tune in to kindergarten through the game. There is so much great literature that prepares children for kindergarten, that presents kindergarten life, friendships, games, and events through the child's lens. These stories can also be acted out.

TIP 3: Relationship and communication with children and kindergarten teachers

Let's talk to our child about what our mark was in kindergarten, what his mark will be, if possible, include him in the election. Let's talk about the kindergarten teachers, so that by the time he starts kindergarten, the names will already sound familiar to him. We look for positive memories among our own experiences and share it with our child. Don't burden him with our own negative experiences, because we can create anxiety in him. Let's agree on every day of the kindergarten who will take him to kindergarten and who will pick him up. We can help the little ones to know time with the activities that define life in kindergarten (this is why the daily schedule is important). E.g. "After lunch"/"after sleep", father goes to kindergarten for you. The it is also important to establish a good relationship with the professionals dealing with our child in the evening of kindergarten and preferably a relationship of trust for the sake of the child.

TIP 4: Rest

Preschool children in the institution a lot of stimuli which often makes them tired. When we notice signs of fatigue in our child, let's make it possible for him to relax. If possible, create a rest corner at home or build a bunker out of pillows and blankets. If we see that he needs company, we can sit with him in the corner and tell stories. The following storybooks can help preschoolers integrate and process the events taking place in kindergarten: Maszat books, Sárkányovi, Anna, Peti, Gergő mesei or Leszel a baratom books.

TIP 5: Divorce

Separation from parents can be facilitated by a temporary object, and it also helps him get used to his parents' absence if During the summer, the child is with grandparents and family friends several times. In every family, during the separation process, a ritual develops spontaneously when saying goodbye, such as when going to bed in the evening, e.g. kisses, hugs, hugs. These established rites also help to let each other go.

+1 TIP for kindergarten: What should we pay attention to?

Entering kindergarten is one a major change in our child's life, a larger community, a new system of rules and customs, lots and lots of adaptation. At this age regressive symptoms may occur, which means that there is a decline from an exceeded level of development. e.g. in the case of room cleanliness, peeing again, or difficult separations follow after earlier easier detachment. It is worth paying attention to anxiety symptoms e.g. withdrawal, sleeping and eating problems, heightened emotions, aggressiveness. If the symptoms do not improve spontaneously, it is worth seeking professional help.

Kindergarten is the stage for the formation of friendships, and social and emotional development develops a lot during the kindergarten years.  As parents, we can support our child in how he can form and nurture relationships, or manage and resolve conflict situations. Here you can experience what it's like to belong to a community. If we can, as parents, we should take part in kindergarten events and programs so that we can get to know the community where we take our children every day. If possible, we consult with the kindergarten teachers from time to time regarding our child's development.
