This week, I brought you a really cute and challenging Volkswagen mini minibus model from Boog amigurumi! I first saw the minibus in its plush version when Bogi shared it on social media. My first thought was YES! I'm sure you'll like this to my dad, as he has loved the VW minibus since childhood. So I decided to I am crocheting this minibus as a birthday present him. He had a white VW minibus that he treasured and when we were little he allowed us to play with it. So, in the middle of my busy schedule, I realized that the crochet minibus planned for my father's birthday was not finished yet! I asked Bogi how long it would take to make this small vehicle, since I had to crochet it within a tight deadline, as we planned the 200 km trip home to my parents for that weekend. Bogi reassured me that it's not a big project, if you put your mind to it, it can be completed in 1 day. And he was right! It took me two days to complete this wonderful minibus.
Since I haven't crocheted anything for my father yet, it seemed like an ideal gift, and so he will finally be able to have one of my crocheted pieces as his own. Anyway, I've made several things for her before, like an embroidered bookmark, and I was always happy to see the bookmark I made peeking out of her current reading. So I trust that this minibus will be held in the same esteem as my previous creations. It is certain that my son will push it when we visit my parents, because he really liked it! We will probably need another minivan in the family.

About the crochet pattern
Boog's creative amigurumi VW kibus keychain simplified pattern is available for free on his blog, However pattern with pictures and lots of help available at a very reasonable price in your webshop, only 2 eurosfor, i.e. for the price of a coffee. Well, who wouldn't be worth it? I made my own minibus using the paid pattern, so I progressed smoothly on the way to its creation. By the way or another version of the bus also if you want to make it in a key ring size. Obsession you can make the keychain pattern with chenille, for which Bogi also had a solution!
The sample it didn't seem easy at first glance. As I looked at the pictures of this vehicle, I saw what it was like is elaborated in detail, making sure that nothing is left out and that its authentic look remains. That's probably why I liked it so much, because so much reproduces the appearance of the real bus!
Basically it didn't require any extra knowledge the minibus, but there was something here too I learned something new. The many crawling eyes were a challenge making them in successive rows, as they could be used to work out the details in such a wonderful way. The design of the nose of the minibus required a lot of attention, to succeed really well. So while that part was being prepared, I didn't know anything else - and I didn't want to pay attention. I crocheted the lines with great excitement, I was interested in what my minibus would look like in the end. Crocheting the base of the vehicle took me just as much time as crocheting the details and embroidering the decorations. It's probably because I'm slow that I typically screw up with embroidery details. Besides the wheels provided an extra crochet and sewing task, which, based on the pattern, would have been 4 buttons of the same size. That solution is also ideal, however, because of my children, I thought it would be safer if it were crocheted. Besides, of course, I didn't even have four buttons at home, so I found it easier to crochet them because of the time constraints.
The biggest challenge of the crochet pattern for me was the final shaping and embroidering of the minibus. However, before anyone panics, Bogy it's like that he gave the instructions in detail, that a person like me who can't embroider/loves it he can do it with playful ease. The whole sample during the making of the bus provided precise instructions, I didn't really have an additional question that I wouldn't have received an answer to. I think that a beginner has seen this pattern before a crocheter can easily make it, that's for sure with many positive experiences will be richer, which you will be able to apply it to other patterns as well. So get on the minibus!
I'll show you how mine turned out in a few pictures, a TikTokyou can also watch it on video!
Boog amigurumi patterns
Bogi has a lot of great patterns, it's no wonder since she's not only good at crocheting, but he also draws beautifully. I'm a little envious of him, I've always wanted to draw beautifully. Definitely one of the Boog amigurumi designs next to the minibus, the Sima Liba is my favorite, which is also one of his free samples. I plan to make a whole team of them for St. Martin's Day. My current favorite is also because of its detail scarecrow patterns. They are simply beautiful! It can be such a beautiful autumn decoration for the apartment, I can even imagine it as a door decoration. It's really hard to single out just a few, but I still really like them the Miciri kittens and Lavender the lamb. But there are quite a few more patterns I could list and add to my seemingly endless crochet wish list, so just I can encourage you to take a look at his website!
