Tales and story-telling are the basis of all cultures, because without them there would be no history. But from whom and when did we hear a fairy tale for the first time in our lives? Fairy tales play an important role in everyone's life. We first meet him as a child. They speak in the voice of our parents and grandparents, and they accompany us so that in the future our children can hear the stories of princesses and poor boys from us. In many ways, fairy tales are very important in our lives, so let's support your child's development through reading. This article presents in 5+1 points the positive effects of reading stories as a child!

5+1 reasons why we should read stories to our children

1. REASON:  It tunes the child and the parent to each other

Reading a story develops a ritual over time. How and when we read to our child. In such cases, we slow down, tune into each other, listen to each other, live the moment in the here and now.

2. REASON: The developmental effect of reading stories is manifold

It supports speech development and enriches the vocabulary. For a child who can't read yet, the letters greet him at school as a familiar sight and he spontaneously remembers the direction of reading. During the evening stories, it is good to stop from time to time and discuss the meaning of the more difficult words, so that we can easily increase our child's knowledge, without teaching him "directly". It also supports learning abilities, as it makes the interpretation of increasingly complex tasks easier for the child during school learning.

3. REASON: It supports communication

The more speeches and stories a child hears, the more vocabulary he has to express himself. In this way, you become able to accurately articulate your feelings, better understand your peers and confidently represent yourself in your relationships. It promotes adaptation. We are looking for a story adapted to the children's current difficulties, through the stories they will be able to understand themselves and process stress.

4. REASON: Fantasy and imagination

In children's minds, the fairy tale is "born" like a movie. "The right fairy tale can create a double consciousness in the child, i.e. the child knows what reality is, yet, giving space to his imagination, he is able to immerse himself in the situation of the protagonist." The good thing about the fairy tales read is that the visual world is left to the child's imagination and fantasy. With children, the fine line between fantasy and reality can still be traversed. Anxiety can be reduced with the help of fantasy. The protagonists are the smallest princes or princesses who grow stronger and gain experience during trials. Children unconsciously increase their range of coping strategies.

5. REASON: Thought processes

Stories and tales support the recognition of cause-and-effect relationships, help with mentalization processes (what the other person might think), and you will be able to evaluate what happened and draw conclusions. It creates the foundations of reading comprehension.

+1 OK: Because it's good!

Among the positives of reading stories together, it is worth highlighting that by setting an example, our child becomes a reading adult who is curious about the world around him, the knowledge and the knowledge.

Summary

The psychological effect of the fairy tale is that reading supports the parent-child relationship and provides reassurance. It conveys knowledge, but its purpose is NOT necessarily to impart concrete knowledge. The more the child's fantasy develops through the story, the more the child is able to transfer it to the game. The fairy tale is a world seen through the eyes of a child, simple and extreme. The fairy tale is a tension-inducing and tension-relieving tool. The stories are predictable, which creates security (beginning and ending). Fairy tales suggest to children that they can prosper in the face of difficulties.
