Recommendation
The next chapter of Advent Crochet is made for us by Boog amigurumi, in which he shows us a really personal and creative postcard, which is equal to a gift in itself. Making such a handmade postcard is a great opportunity to sit down and create something together, either alone or with the children, in the run-up before Christmas. These creative minutes and hours give us the opportunity to talk and recall memories, which not only helps us get in the mood for the holidays, but is also essential for closing the year. Bogi shows us the templates he made for his article and step by step how we can make a unique postcard for our loved ones. Gluing, sewing, and cutting are always exciting fun with children, so we can create beautiful memories for each other in connection with the joint creation, and these happy moments can make the preparation for Christmas even more beautiful.
The tradition of sending a postcard is slowly being taken out in our fast-paced world, where we can reach the other person in a matter of seconds and communicate, either by message, voice or video. As a child, I remember it was always exciting not only for Christmas, but also for Easter, when greeting cards from distant relatives arrived, in which they described how they were doing and expressed their good wishes for the holidays. During this period, I couldn't wait for the postman to arrive, I was always curious about what kind of papers my relatives and friends would send this year. My favorites were always the ones we got from abroad. My mother's Canadian uncle usually delighted us with musical postcards and we loved listening to these cards. At the time, it seemed so incredible that someone from so far away sent us greetings and an exciting postcard. I'm sorry that my children won't be able to experience this anymore, but Bogi also brought back this beautiful memory in me, which makes me want to make postcards for our family members who live geographically further away this year. Maybe I won't entrust the delivery to the post office, but we will hand it over personally, but it doesn't change the essence. We surprise our loved ones with a unique sheet of greetings, for whom this small gift will also bring back old memories.
