Not long ago, I made one of the free patterns from the blog of Khuc Cay, the world-famous amigurumi designer who has several books. I made this very girly bunny bag for my little boy's friend for his 5th birthday. We live on the same street as the little girl, and from the very beginning she finds common ground with my little son very well. For this reason, we were very happy with the birthday invitation and of course I thought that I would make a gift with something crocheted. I was thinking a lot about what to make, when by chance I came across Khuc Cay's bunny bag on Instagram, and I immediately knew that this is what I was going to make! By the way, I have been following the designer on Instagram for a very long time, several of his designs are on my particular boot list.

About the crochet pattern

I crocheted the bunny bag crochet pattern from the designer's blog. He is also one of those designers - like many others in international waters - that she posts her free samples on her blog. These samples can thus be saved in PDF format by printing the page at most. However, the designers - in almost all cases they also create a PDF version of their free patterns, which crocheters can buy in their stores at a much cheaper price than their other patterns. By purchasing such a pattern, you not only get a fully developed version, but also financially support the design work. Of course, there is nothing wrong with being someone use the free version, but in this case I recommend that use the designer's site directly when crocheting, as you can also support the designer with this (appears earlier in search engines, receives income from advertisements on the page, etc.).

This was the very first time I made a crochet from a blog. What I really liked about the blog post is that the he also shared his personal story with the crocheters. It explains in a few sentences why this cute writing bag was designed. In a nutshell, she made it for her little girl for an Easter egg hunt. After the lovely story lists the necessary tools and materials, then the abbreviations and describes the crochet pattern in a completely transparent manner, in tabular form. I visited many different blogs, there were some where the patterns were described in a totally chaotic manner, and it was difficult to figure out who was with whom. In this case, you definitely don't have to worry about it!

The bag is the rest Drops Paris I made it with my yarns and I think it turned out really nice! The crochet pattern is a you start by making ears, let's say I started crocheting the part of the bag, but that's taste and slaps. I like it when the base is first on which the body parts need to be sewn, rather than the other way around. For the ears, unfortunately, I left the larger crochet hook out of carelessness, but I think the end result was still cute. Maybe when the front and back of the ear are crocheted together, it deviates significantly aesthetically, but it wasn't so disturbing that I unwrapped it. After the tabs, the pattern details the making of the bag. Well, I've had problems here. I don't usually connect the lines with my creeper, I usually always work in a spiral. At first I half-crocheted it, when the stitch count didn't come out, for God's sake, mine always differed from the pattern. That's when I realized that (I was completely out of my routine) I also crocheted in the eye that should have been left out due to the connection. My other problem was that did not like my connection method at all. The line of connection was so rough that it really bothered my eyes. Due to a lack of time and energy, I couldn't look into the best connection method, but what's late is never good. Perhaps one day a summary article will be prepared about this as well, preceded by a thorough investigation. However, I quickly found a method on YouTube with which I was half as satisfied as the previous one. So when the bag was almost done, I took it all down to the beginning and paying more attention to the eyes, using the other connection method I re-crocheted it all. All this one day before the birthday party. Lucky it's one super fast pattern, so I crocheted all afternoon and evening to finish it. Finally at 2:30 in the morning I went to sleep contentedly, because the cute bag was ready, I embroidered the cute little face, and a super braided handle was made for it (made of 3*3 strands of yarn, made with triple braiding) and I was excitedly waiting to see what the little girl would say about it. By the way, the designer offers two options for the handle of the bag, so everyone can choose the one they like.

Luckily for me, the crocheted bunny bag was a great hit, the little girl and her mother liked the crocheting a lot, and I'm sure that it will serve them well ever since. I'm sure I'll make one for my little girl too, then I'll crochet it spirally, so the connection won't be visible! Now I'll show you how my bag turned out in just a few pictures!

Khuc Cay samples

Khuc Cay lives in France with his family, his works bear Vietnamese and French characteristics. Her cute figures are inspired by her little daughter. Her passion is to show them to the world, whether by drawing or crocheting, and to make others happy with it. I personally have several favorite designs from him, but probably if I buy a pattern from her in the future, I will do it in the form of a book, thereby expanding my crochet pattern library. Several volumes have already been published, each piece has super cute patterns. His first book ever also available in Hungarian in several online bookstores it is A colorful swirl of amigurumi c. book. It contains 16 figures and the Published by Oak Tree Publishing appeared. The publisher also sells this publication, and the product description of the book mentions that a crochet package is also available for some figures. In addition to the pattern, the package also contains the necessary materials, so it can be an excellent gift idea for a crocheter.

The tother publications of Ervező although it is not (yet) published in Hungarian, however are available in English, German and French too. Sweet Crochet Animals (Cute crocheted animals) and a The wonderful world of amigurumi (The wonderful world of amigurumi) books They hide 15 wonderful patterns, which are just waiting to be crocheted. Besides, so far in 2023, a book containing Christmas patterns was published only in French, but I think it would be a sin not to publish this book by this talented designer in another language. I think we just have to wait a little bit here and it will be available in English as well.

However, the my personal favorites I would like to share with you: what is my eternal favorite free penguin pattern, the dragons, the badger and the paid samples of artist's dog. Visit his website or any other webshop and get your favorite pattern from him!
