Drops Cotton Merino (50g/110m, 50% wool; 50% cotton)
In view of the cold and winter really soft and comfortable (as I would say cozy [pronounce: kozi]) I brought wool-cotton blend yarn For you, a Drops Cotton Merino yarn. I ordered 11 skeins of it in 2021, if I remember correctly, because I had a stated intention to crochet myself a triangle scarf. I mean it worked! I cut my ax into a larger tree than I thought, but I will write more about the scarf at the end of the article! I really liked its composition, since I also prefer natural yarns at idle (except chenille), and its colors they were immediately taken with you, as if they were a bit gradient, but just for a moment. What is certain is that as soon as I got hold of my dumplings and could finally touch them, it was love at first touch - since I bought them a little blindly. I was a little worried about the wool aspect, I had a bad experience with wool yarn, but then all my doubts disappeared when I got them in my hands. I have never used such a soft yarn made of natural ingredients in my life.
THE my scarf, which I made from this yarn, I crocheted with a 3.5 mm crochet hook. The yarn manufacturer recommends a 4 mm needle, but somehow it wasn't so comfortable for me. I felt the needle was too big for the yarn, but that might be "amigurumi harm". Working with it was very different from other yarns, which I use for amigurumi, but basically when I felt it, I fell in love very. I calculated myself a bit with the yarn, so I had 3-4 skeins left, which I have already partially used and plan to use. It may even be that I try to knit socks with this needle for the first time in my life, which has been a cherished dream of mine for a long time! But let's not rush ahead, let's see what this yarn can do!

🔘 The first and most important - especially for products made for babies - It has OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certification, which means it can be used especially for babies and toddlersand products made from them. I also used my scarf as a baby blanket in milder weather (fall and spring). When we went and I felt that the weather had turned a little cooler, I wrapped my little girl in it, and I was sure that she wouldn't get cold. By the way I can imagine a hat, a scarf, a baby blanket with a looser weave, a hoodie, a vest, even knitted socks. I'm definitely going to make myself some ear muffs out of the remaining gray, since it's so hot and I usually have my hair in a braid (because of the kids).
🔘 It's very soft and warm, I think the end result is wonderful. While my scarf was being made, I really felt that it warmed me and I knew that my neck would be protected even in the worst minuses. In addition, while crocheting I was able to experience the final texture also which nice even volt!
🔘 After getting used to the yarn, it was very easy to move with, it slid nicely on the needle and was easy to crochet.
🔘 What is very important for wool yarns: machine washable! Among others, I don't like to choose woolen yarn for this reason, because I've been careless before, threw my newly acquired hoodie into the washing machine and it shrunk nicely to a child's size. Well, this thread won't! I tried! 4It remained the same even after 0 degrees, just cleaner. That's why dryerI wouldn't dare to throw it in, by the way not recommended by the manufacturer!
🔘 There are plenty of colors to choose from of it, but not enough to make amigurumi. However, if you want to make a piece of clothing for yourself, it can be a great choice. I really like the "washed" color, it's like it's a bit gradient or worn, so the yarn made from it will be very beautiful. It breaks up the finished piece and it won't be a "boring" monochromatic color, a little play is involved.
🔘 The price is a little more expensive, like the others, though In terms of cotton-wool mix, I think the price-value ratio is very good!

CONS
🔘 When crocheting, the threads fall apart more easily compared to a mercerized yarn. It threads more easily, I had trouble with this many times while crocheting, because I got caught in the yarn. However, as soon as I got the hang of it, it was no longer a problem, the yarn takes a little getting used to.
🔘 I would not use it for amigurumi or crocheted toys. The reason here is not only the choice of colors, but I simply feel that this is so much looser that the toys would stretch a bit during use. Although it is also possible that it would be quite stiff with a smaller, say 2 or 2.5 mm crochet hook. To be honest, I would regret using this very good quality yarn for a game. I would rather choose something that really needs to be warm and comfortable to wear.
🔘 It is not a good choice for those who are looking for a completely solid color yarn. Although the pictures also show this well slightly washed-out, color-gradient character there is
🔘 It is also not an ideal choice for large blankets (150×200 mm). Neither in price nor in weight. A loosely crocheted, larger blanket can also feel quite heavy with it. If this does not bother the maker, then by all means choose a pattern that can be crocheted more loosely!
OVERALL
I feel that this yarn can be a very good choice for crocheting clothes, as it is not only comfortable to wear, but very warm! I really liked it both while crocheting and wearing it, so I will most likely use this yarn in the future for the aforementioned. Now I'm really going to learn how to knit socks and then I'm going to try this one. I'm sure it will make a great indoor sock!

A few words about my crocheted scarf

The pattern itself isn't difficult, though to be honest, you don't just need to make amigurumi learn, but the also scarf/blanket making! When I first started crocheting approx. on the 30th line, I realized that I did not understand something in the pattern. By the way I turned to the designer for help (in English by definition) and very was readily available to me. I finally figured out what I messed up on the edges, but the bad part in front of it bothered me so much that I took it all down and started over. Since it was such a disappointment that it didn't work the first time, and besides, spring has come, I rather put this project aside for later.
Finally, in the fall, I decided to do it again, and It wasn't perfect, though has become much better compared to the first version, as well as compared to that this is my first crocheted triangle scarf.
